I was looking for a way to sharpen the blades on my mother's old cylinder mower. Due to the cheapness and reluctance to file the sandpaper holder system, I looked at lapping paste kits. The handle is used to rotate the blades. However, a little research revealed that I didn't need a pen. All I had to do was take off the hubcaps and put the gears on the other wheel. Apply lapping compound to the blades, tighten the gap and run the mower down the street/driveway for a few minutes. Replacing the gears causes the blades to move in the opposite direction, which is necessary to sharpen the blades. Swap the gears, clean the blades and mount the wheels. Blades are sharpened. Also, this tube will likely last the life of your sharpener. Very little is used.
