I would like to preface this by saying that you must disable your VPN if you wish to use this product. I spent more than I wanted to wonder why this microscope just won't connect to the app I downloaded. Then, as a last resort, I decided to disable my VPN. Success! I hesitated whether to buy this product or the traditional looking microscope. After using this product I am happy with my decision. Unlike traditional microscopes, you can literally and easily magnify anything you want. It takes a while to get the focus right, but considering the price and ease of use (after turning off the VPN), this was definitely the best solution. Considering I bought this for my nephew as a beginner microscope, don't expect to get the resolution you expect from high-end and mid-range oscilloscopes. This is perfect for those just starting out in the field, or for those who just want to see how something looks closer than what a cell phone zoom gives you.
