Review on TROND USB Protector Widely Spaced Expansion by Drew Springer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Simple Concept Great Execution

There are many ways to purchase a "power supply" but not all manufacturers apply logic to their product design. This TROND flick basically fits the bill. The most important factors for me are a solid, safe construction and a practical layout. Minor but no less important aspects are the low-profile fork and the neutral color. TROND replaced my 10 year old "PowerMaster II Surge Protector" that I bought at Walmart. It served its purpose, but was a bit unwieldy and surge suppression probably didn't exist at the time. TROND is simply better. I put it under the sofa and plug it straight into an outlet on the floor. The sofa is in the middle of the room, so I like it when the cables of the lamps on the two outer tables slip unnoticed directly under the sofa. It also powers two laptop transformers, a wireless phone base and a USB fast charger for mobile devices. In addition, I have a pair of 3-foot heavy-duty extension cords that plug into an outlet for quick access to the occasional item like a heating pad. So you can just crawl blindly under the sofa and quickly pocket something. The addition of USB ports suits its modern design, but ultimately I don't care. I would use a USB-C outlet to power my fast charger, but apparently TROND's 18W isn't what my charger needs. That's not a problem for me because with 13 logically and conveniently spaced sockets on TROND I have enough excess to use my own USB charging dongle. The bottom line is that TROND is thoughtfully designed with a low profile yet durable construction. and practical division. I will not hesitate to buy more of these.
