They definitely don't glow in the dark, at least not in the traditional sense. The description should have said that they appear in vibrant tones when using a color changing LED strip. It looks like things glow in the dark, but that doesn't mean they glow in the dark like the name suggests. I even tried putting them near a lightbulb for 5 minutes but when I turned off all the lights in the room they don't light up at all, not one iota. Another major downside is that each coaster's design is convex rather than flat, creating an uneven surface for resting drinks on. Look at the design and imagine trying to balance a can of coke on this thing.
