Bring Chevy's Sonic Turbo to life.

This is a phenomenal upgrade for any Sonic 1.4 Turbo. This is my second expensive CAI, the first was from AEM on a '00 S-10 pickup. I also installed a cheaper Specter Performance air intake on a '07 Silverado. If Specter made one for this car I would drive with them again. All this is aside. This approach is perfect. With all the numerous, in my opinion unnecessary struts, assembly is easy. A piece of advice for future buyers: do not fit the heat shield holder first, which uses the motor mounting screw on the heat shield! Screw it to the motor mount first. There is very little room to tighten the motor mount once it is on the heat shield. This is the only deviation from the instructions. Performance: The stock air intake smothers that little turbo, it opens everything up beautifully. When it comes to acceleration, Sonic is quite a snail. With this addition, throttle response is a little livelier. I've noticed a significant increase in speed off-road and especially when accelerating on hills/ramps. My Sonic picks up speed from 48 to 60 much easier when picking up speed in 6th gear on a freeway ramp. Which saves fuel. It also shows how much it helps in the low rev range. Sound: Silence is what you hear from your sound turbo (besides the slight turbo whistle with the windows open). Thanks to this CAI sound of sonic turbocharging. There's also a certain growl as each cylinder sucks in air. The turbine is VERY noticeable under acceleration, let off the gas and you're rewarded with a blowdown. I was surprised yesterday on my drive how noticeable it is even on all windows. The manual gearbox definitely helps so you can hear the engine when you shift gears. Fuel Savings: Since installing this intake and my desperate attempts not to drive it the way I race, my average MPG has gone from 34.4 to 35.2. for about a week. I would call it a win. And that with a harder driving style. Can not do anything. I need to hear that turbo lol. Final thoughts: great fit, great sound, fuel economy and increased fun factor. Fantastic purchase. Let your turbo breathe! That's an amazing $272. With gas savings, it quickly pays for itself. If you have a Sonic 1.4 Turbo, BUY NOW!
