For $22 this is a great replacement for my HP laptop with Windows 10 (Envy). To install: I turned off the power, removed the battery, installed the hard drive, reinserted the battery, reinserted it, then turned it on, but the device didn't show up. Then I put in a music CD, but nothing happened. I even used "Device Manager" to scan for new hardware, but that didn't find any new devices. or help me in any way. Finally I restarted the laptop for the second time and now the device shows up correctly and works great! For some reason it took me TWO reboots. Now everything is good. Very satisfied!
