Opens at 174, not stock 190!
This thermostat is good quality but not the right one. The standard thermostat for my 1999.5 Jetta is a 190 degree thermostat, not a 174. My fault is that I didn't read the product description properly, but I don't even understand why you need a thermostat that opens at 174 , but not stock 190. Emissions and all sorts of problems if you try to start the engine too cold.
