Review on πŸ“ Garmin GPSMAP 76Cx Handheld GPS: Accurate Navigation for Your Outdoor Adventures by Darnell Evans

Very nice multifunction device

I've been using the 76cx on my Seadoo for about a month now. Seadoo makes a glove box lid that the 76 series can snap into so it's always in front of me. I am very happy with the screen, no matter how and where I drive, I can always read it without any problems. The fact that the device floats has saved me from losing a few times. The software is very good and easy to use. I can connect a device after a day of cycling and import my tracks wherever I've been. I have 2 small problems with the device. First, the maps that come with it are not accurate at all. Most of the places I drive are considered mainland on the maps. I'm hoping to get blueprint cards soon, but they cost the same as a unit, so I'm hesitant to pull the trigger before trying a unit that contains them. My second problem is that you can't get tide information. to the information page. I ride in a lot of tidal areas and it would be helpful to see when the tide is high/low so I know where to enter/avoid some places. It's not that hard to get the tide info from the main menu, but I would save time putting it right on the info page. Overall the 76cx is an impressive device and I would recommend it to anyone with a PWC. It is durable, compact and easy to use.
