I have researched the many different roof bags available from Revain and chose these based on the good reviews and fair price. Initially I wasn't sure if this bag would technically work with our car as some product reviews and even the seller's direct responses in the Customer Questions section indicate that it will not work with an Odyssey without a roof rack. However, to be sure, I called the company directly and the person I spoke to at Rightline assured me that the bag would fit perfectly in our car. I also found a video on YouTube of a Honda Odyssey owner like ours who bought this bag and used it successfully. After seeing this video I decided to buy it. We used it for a 1000 mile round trip to the beach last week - we needed extra space because we were taking my son to college on the way back. The bag itself is very dense, durable material. Zippers are a bit difficult to manage at first, but I've come to terms with the realization that they've probably made them more weather-resistant. We didn't use padding on the bottom and to be honest I don't know why you need it as the bag attaches very well to the roof once the straps are tightened and its bottom doesn't chafe. We rode over 5 hours in pouring rain on the way down and everything in the bag was dry to the bone by the time we reached our destination. However, since we don't have a roof rack, we had to attach the bag through the doors (note this works with sliding doors too). This shouldn't be a problem in dry weather, except for a little extra wind noise. However, the straps and buckles create small gaps in the doors and water was constantly dripping into our car at all 4 attachment points. It wasn't a downpour but with 5 hours of rain comes a steady drip which is quite annoying as the seats, floor and doors get wet all the time. This is my only complaint. Aside from the rain I find the bag to be of very high quality, attaches well to the car roof, keeps your stuff dry and lasts a long time.
