These gaiters look nice but are made out of VERY soft, thin leather. I was expecting them to be more durable to ensure adequate protection from rocks and objects that might come off the road. They would have been better than cloth, but they weren't what I expected from calf boots. They look great but are so thin I can't even wear them. I bought size XS/S and even when I tightened the back strap as tight as possible, they still went under the calf. They were so thin I couldn't hold them to protect my shins so I returned them. If worn over knee high boots maybe they could stay on your feet and provide enough protection between them.
