I'm left-handed and have dreaded those times when I had to write in a journal - some college classes required me to keep one. I dreaded it because the binding on them made it so difficult for me to write on the right hand page. Lefties will know what I'm talking about. This journal lays open in such a way that it's easy to write in, on both sides, from the first page to the last.I like the quality of this journal too. It seems durable, has two ribbons for bookmarking, a pen/pencil elastic loop on the outside spine, and the pages are quality paper, well-lined and have a place to write the date in the top corner of each page. There is also an outer elastic strap to keep the journal closed. There is nothing negative I can find to say about it. My favorite feature is how easy it is for me to write in. I may actually start journaling again!
