I have a country house and I have decided to use Ecowitt products to monitor the house. I have an Ecowitt GW1000 to which I have connected a couple of temperature/humidity sensors and now also a water/alarm sensor. With the GW1000 running, installation is very simple. Insert the batteries and the sensor will appear in the app in about a minute. I placed my only sensor in the basement next to the water heater and that's it. When testing the sensor, a very small amount of water on the back will set off an alarm. You can use the Ecowitt website to set up an alert email, which again is very easy. The only downside I have is that I don't think the alarm is as loud as it could be. I have several guard dogs in the basement and they are much louder which I prefer. I would like Ecowitt to add a way to turn off the alarm using the app. I don't currently see this option. They also don't have a notification option that I can find, so I use my email-to-text feature to get a text, not an email. Overall, the Ecowitt ecosystem is strong value for money.
