Well that's disappointing. I took the speaker out of the box and put it in my Cobra HT 50WXST and it seemed to work fine - there was no CB action anywhere near my house so all I heard was static. Stuck it in my Icom ID-800H in the jeep the next morning because I wanted it for that. It sounded better than the built in speaker and I was happy with it. But when I tried to use it on the way home later that day, I heard nothing. I had to hold it right up to my ear, even with the Icom set to maximum volume, and the audio was distorted to the point of incomprehensibility. So obviously something went wrong inside. I'll update the review as soon as I get a replacement so I have time to try it out.
