Ball joint mechanism with a hexagon that distributes the load on 6 sides.
I use this universal joint in tight spaces. I tested the 3/8 universal joint with 33lb-ft of torque and it worked fine. The hex ball joint distributes the torque evenly on all 6 sides. Great product for the price. 1/4 universal joint not shown.
