Review on DMT A4EE Diamond Whetstone 2X Extra Fine by Patrick Hamilton

The stone is fine - four stars because it is advertised in large bold and is four inches long. No, that is not so. If you look closely at the specification in the fine print, you'll see that it's actually 4.3 inches (which was 4 3/8 inches on my tape measure). If you're buying it for a KME knife sharpener (because you'll be sure it will fit), it's too long and won't fit. But if you have a grinder with metal cutters to return the item, you can cut about 3/16" from each end (I did this instead of cutting 3/8" from one end because I figured the stitch clasps at would eliminate that end if I cut it this way - cutting the fasteners on both ends leaves them intact). It took me about ten minutes to trim and smooth all the remaining edges and now it fits perfectly in the KME knife sharpener. FYI - cut it slightly longer (about 4 1/16 inches) to ensure the KME holder will clamp it snugly. And some more information if you are looking for a KME knife sharpener, the thickness and width are perfect. But the length is disappointing. Happy sharpening!
