Review on 🐠 Lee's Eco-Friendly Mini Gravel Vacuum for Efficient Aquarium Cleaning by Drew Poulin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for my 2.5 gallon tank

Exactly what I needed. I have a 2.5 liter tank and it's just the right size. The suction tube is 6" long plus 1/2" for the lid, so installing it horizontally in the tank to start the siphon wasn't difficult for me. The hose fits snugly into the intake manifold cover and is stiff enough to feel strong yet flexible. It has a moderately slow flow with just enough suction to pull out any debris. It took me several (maybe 7?) rounds (clean, fill up tank, clean, refill, etc.) with a pint jug to remove all of my deep gravel (deeply stuck fine debris particles - haven't used a gravel cleaner for over 3 months) :/) , so maybe the flow is fast enough, I can't clean more than a quarter or half of the surface at a time, for maintenance cleans. However, I wouldn't want it to run slower because that would mean it's weaker. Because the pipe is only 1 inch in diameter, sometimes gravel gets loose in the pipe. I'm used to small tanks and small vacuums so it doesn't matter to me, not effective for surfaces larger than 5 or maybe 10 gallons. May be. My tank is 72 square inches of gravel, maybe an inch and a half deep, and it took about 5 gallons just to clean THAT properly. The packaging says "for aquariums and mini-aquariums". ."
