Review on Durable Chrome Delta Faucet Ara 17 Series Dual-Function Shower Handle Valve Trim Kit with Integrated Diverter (3-Setting) – T27867, Valve Not Included by Jesse Blair

Great looks and great quality with 1 warning

I have a moen -Ordered valve, a trim kit and a delta. Once satined and once polished. Both valves appeared to be well made, but didn't compare any trim sets. The Moen was light with an inexpensive foam seal and the Delta was heavy with a large weight and rubber seal. CAUTION: This valve has a 3-position switch. The same valve body works with a 6-position switch. I would normally put a faucet in, but this conversion was done in our winter home and is against the rules. Trim kits for 3 and 6 position rear derailleurs are equipped with special shift valves. BUT, the KEY is the installation. If using position 3, close the switch connector on the RIGHT side of the switch body. Our plumber clogged the left one because we had a wall mounted shower on the right. When we tested position 3, only position 2 worked. Our wand will not work on its own. Luckily we were able to access the valve from the toilet. The temperature control works well, but the button on the pad is plastic. Given the weight and finish of the rest of the valve, one wonders why Delta chose to use plastic for it.

Pros
  • BUILT-IN DIVETER: The unique integrated design includes both a dual knob for water volume and temperature adjustment and a 3-position switch that requires only one set point for both shower functions
Cons
  • Weight
