had to be persuaded.

with the metal tabs that tuck inside. Read it like "I used a vise, a hammer and a lot of force!" It definitely took some mechanical experience to put together. But it certainly won't fall apart by accident! So if you're sure you can combine things that hardly go together, then go for it. Some people have talked about cutting the plastic or using a dremel tool to open things up to insert a cable. Well, they were very dense, but I just mixed them together and it worked. Can't remember if I had to squeeze it in a vise or give it a good whack with a heavy object, but it worked (we did this a few weeks ago and were asked to provide reviews today). Another thought was to keep them warm when you are somewhere colder. Here in Florida, at 85 degrees, that wasn't a problem. But when it gets colder, knowing how tight it is, I'd put it in a pot of hot water on the stove for about 15 minutes to make the plastic more flexible. Not so hot that you can burn yourself, but nice and warm, plastic is definitely easier to work with.
