Helps prevent cold sores

I started taking it because I had a period where allergies gave me cold sores all over my mouth for a couple of weeks. L-lysine was recommended to me to alleviate this problem. I started and have no regrets. It was of great help. Not only does this prevent cold sores, but it also helps me feel a slight tingling sensation on my lip when it could be, so I can use some sort of medicated balm to prevent it.
