UPDATE: Product died after 2 days from brief use. The cables connecting to the CD changer port were actually loose which caused the unit to work and not work at times. The only solution is to constantly take the radio out and push the connector in firmly. I think I received a defective device. I am returning this device. The product works well, it meets half of my expectations. Installation on my 2001 Toyota Corolla LE with stock radio was pretty easy. Simply remove the air vent on the front of the radio, 4 Phillips screws hold the radio in place and it pops out. Then plug the adapter into the CD changer/accessory port. I then routed the wire under the center console skid plate and used 2 zip ties to attach the yellow controller box to one of the metal frame rails near the car's firewall. I then removed the AUX and USB jacks under the passenger side glove box to keep the interior looking clean and factory new. The first downside is that the USB and AUX cables are quite short, so I had to buy a 1 meter AUX extension cable to bring the Aux cable to the driver's side. The USB is fine as I just plug in my phone cord and it's long enough to get to the driver's side of the car. The second disadvantage is that you cannot play music through the USB part. It only works through part of the AUX cable. It's a bummer but at least I think it can charge your phone/device. The biggest downside for me is that if you use the USB port to charge your phone or mobile device and then switch from CD to FM or AM radio, everything you hear is static on both channels until you listen to your Do not disconnect device from USB. Harbor. Basically this makes the USB port a bit useless in my opinion as the cigarette lighter port can charge your phone much faster via the USB adapter which makes the USB port on this adapter a bit useless in my case (though it might be different for others). ). ) I have not yet tried charging my phone with another device to play music via AUX, but if I get static or interference while doing so I will update this review and return the device. I think this product is good in theory but has many disadvantages in reality. If these shortcomings are corrected then I think it will be a great product as I only bought this so I can keep my car's interior factory looking while still having the functionality of a more modern radio. If I didn't care about keeping the original look of the interior then I would have saved myself the hassle of buying an aftermarket head unit and ripping out the old factory radio.
