We have just installed new windows in our old farmhouse and painted our new interior window frames dark walnut. I ordered these chocolate curtains for each window. They harmonize beautifully with the wood tones and the internal support is hidden almost imperceptibly in its small box reminiscent of a very minimalist valance. They are simply mounted with 2 small metal clips on top and there is a very good tensioner (mounted with 3 screws) to roll the shade up or down. During the day, some landscapes can be seen through the curtain. They don't offer complete privacy at night as others have mentioned. If you are in a brightly lit room, someone outside can see the basic shapes. I wouldn't put them in the bathroom if you're concerned about privacy. Also, the price varies greatly depending on the color and size. You can save a few bucks by ordering 1/16 inch less.
