Good as a displayport switch.
I have three of these, the inputs from a Thinkpad (Manjaro), a CalDigit Dock for MacBook (BigSur) and two desktops (Windows and Ubuntu) to three monitors (two Dell U2717D and one Dell U2721DE). DP cables are available in a variety of lengths from 3 to 10 feet, all DP1.4Is will switch between any combination of all four computers/three monitors all day long and the switch is always on. However, I don't use the USB switch function, I use the devices purely as a display port switch. USB remotes work as advertised.
