Review on Leofoto LN-404C Massive Carbon Fiber Tripod: Perfect for Bowl Compatible Systems by Michael Tegan

Contrary to some opinions about LeoFoto, this is NOT a cheap fake. Yes, the design is similar to 'top tier' brands, but it is very well designed and made. I am impressed. I bought two extra plates to be able to easily switch between ball, gimbal and pan heads. They fit perfectly and tighten, which is a sign of the machine's tight tolerances. I don't have much time to assess durability, but I don't see any downsides. Yes, the legs were very stiff when received, but a quick adjustment with a 6mm allen key is enough to adjust them to personal preference. Like any good tripod. Careful, this is a big, heavy animal. But this is no studio queen; It's still "portable" at less than 10 pounds and less than 3 feet, even when paired with a hard head. I'm not getting rid of my little tripods, but I'm going to use this big boy for as long as I can.
