Review on 🔬 Optimized GeoSafari Factory Educational Insights 5145 by Tony Pierce

I bought this for my 9 year old to observe and care for this summer. I read some reviews before ordering so I knew I had to buy extra sand and then order the ants separately. When we received our farm, we ordered our ants the same day and they were in our mailbox for 10 days! We followed all the instructions to set up the ant farm, then placed our vial of live ants in the fridge for 10 minutes as instructed. That obviously wasn't enough, and the instructions didn't explain the reason for the fridge (to temporarily paralyze the ants so you can house them without escaping), so we started with a hopper (not recommended), the ants into the drain farm. not a single ant made it before they all tried to get out and we all started screaming as we watched 40 live ants (including the biggest I've ever seen!) try to escape! We ran to the bathroom sink and ended up having to drown them because they were all over the place and it was a mess. So yes. We may or may not overdo our first batch (which we definitely did). Despite our failed first attempt, we read more reviews, understood the purpose of the fridge (one review even said it left it on for 35 minutes!) and found some tips on how to use your tub as a transfer backdrop in the event of an escape! Well, with that said. we'll try again anyway! I will update this once we receive our second batch and I have my fingers crossed that this batch makes it successfully to its new home!
