Pros: Lots of settings and timers make it essential for the forgetful cook. The one who always burns everything benefits from this. Cast iron cooks evenly, unlike the usual hot spots you get with other appliances. I baked bread because I wanted to see how it rose. You can see it's well raised. It's big enough to fit a small chicken inside. Cons: It's big. That means you need to plan the counter space. Not suitable for a small kitchen and certainly not for occasional cooking. You'll need this if you need to plan meals, but not as a novelty. I'm not sure how it competes with a pressure cooker for flavor, but I'm partial to the speed you get with a pressure cooker. Help, I have a lot of LeCrueset pans and they are lighter but with a timer.
