I have been using bamboo flatware for many years now, and the shape of these is different than what I am used to. Like my good bamboo flatware, the forks have 3 teeth rather than 4, which I have found to be absolutely necessary with wooden forks even though stainless steel forks most people use in the U.S. for dinnerware have 4 teeth. BRAVO. I am always so disappointed when I see otherwise beautiful wooden flatware but with 4 teeth on the forks. I will not even try those! The forks in this set are beautiful -- and a more pleasing design than the forks to which I have become accustomed that are made of bamboo.The spoons have been a surprise to me. The ladle portion of the spoon is larger than the bamboo spoons to which I am accustomed and at first I really thought they were awkwardly large. In addition, the color of the wood on the spoons is not the same as the color of the forks (which are a blonder wood than the spoons). Now after using them for a week or so I find that I am always preferring these spoons over my old ones. I like them very much!
