I am using this for an outdoor projection system where it would not be practical to run an HDMI cable. The fact that both transmitter and receiver are powered at both ends makes this choice even more attractive. CAT 6 cables are cheaper and easier to route through 3/4 inch conduit than a good quality HDMI cable. It easily mounts under the projector in a single unit that can be removed when not in use.
