The glue fails and the seller does not stand behind the goods.

I've been a MacSales customer since 1994 when I bought a network card to fit my Powerbook 5300ce. This is the world's first Mac notebook with an active matrix color display. During that time, I bought tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment from them. I just bought Thunderbolt 2 and 3 docking stations from them this year. (both are getting REALLY HOT) and lately I've been a bit worried about the quality of some things but overall I've been happy. I had a hard drive that was giving me SMART errors in my 2013 iMac so I figured it was time to replace the hard drive so I started looking for a kit. These guys had one of several available. I bought it and it didn't install for months until I could get my hands on it. The instructions were easy. I'm a techie and have even worked at a Mac store. In fact, I have my own anti-static mat and wrist strap and work with the drone and computer almost every week. I followed their installation video. I was surprised how easy the installation was. The holes in the mounting bars make alignment very easy. I did exactly as I always do when there is sticky stickers stuck to anything, I carefully removed the sticky stickers that were there by tearing them off and rubbing all surfaces with alcohol. After two weeks I got into the office to find the screen had fallen over and the ribbon cables had pulled out of the motherboard. The computer is completely destroyed. The hard drive and RAM can be salvaged, but that's about it. I contacted them and they suggested that the problem here is the lack of professional installation. I've asked them for clarification and it seems they believe the technician has the only access to the glue cutters to ensure the old glue is completely removed before the new strips are installed. They offered to send me another set. I suppose I could console myself with $35 or so, I could have avoided selling this kit to anyone here, but I think selling it to you would make me feel as embarrassed as you should have . By the way, I think this is a fairly common problem. Buyer warning!
