Great, comfortable pants!

I like these pants very much. I'm 5ft 5in, 140lbs, curvy build and chose a size 8 in them. They are loose fitting and could be smaller to be more stylish but my usual size 6 was very comfortable. They are very easy to move. I bought these for a long trip from the east coast to Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon so they had to be 1) easy to pack and take up little space, 2) stylish enough as they would be my only pair of long pants, 3) dry quickly and well suited for hiking in different temperatures and, most importantly, 4) comfortable for traveling and hiking. In short, these pants fit well in every way. 1) I bought two pairs - black and "Pulse" gray with a slight purple tint. They are thin so pack very easily and don't take up much space at all. They also get rid of the creases within minutes of wearing them, so you can roll them up pretty roughly and still look great later. 2) As I mentioned earlier, I raised them a bit to make it easier to move. I was a bit concerned that it would look like I was wearing robes everywhere, but they are really good. Size up a little, you can't see the lines of your underwear, and the cut of the boots shows you still have a figure, so they look good in "street" style. 3) They dry very well. They can be washed in the sink at night and dried in the morning. Also, my kids splashed my husband and I with water while I was wearing these pants, and my husband's jeans were streaked with water; My pants just had bead drops that fell off. Also, for stubborn stains, I could take a damp sponge and just wipe the stain. However, these pants still breathe amazingly well and were very comfortable in the desert (Death Valley, they felt really good). They feel fresh and light, don't hold moisture or sweat at all and have a decent SPF. It's worth noting that the Pulse color worked great in the desert, but the black color looks a bit hotter in direct sunlight. On cold nights, these pants are very thin and certainly not designed for the cold. If you plan to go hiking in variable temperatures, I would consider taking a thin base layer to wear underneath. 4) Finally consolation. These are the most comfortable hiking and travel pants I've ever had. They have a snap button and drawstring so they are easily adjustable; This makes them very forgiving of days spent hiking and rock climbing and nights spent drinking junk food and beer. The small size allows for more freedom of movement, while the drawcord allows for greater size adjustment. At 5ft 5in, they didn't drag on the floor when I was wearing my sneakers, but I had to tuck them under my heel in flip flops. All in all a great pant for travel and hiking. I didn't wash them often so I can't comment on their durability, but they were very comfortable and worked well.
