I recently got back into watercolor painting and when I looked through my brush collection I noticed that it was filled with cheap brushes from my student days that were in terrible shape. I quickly went online and saw if I could find a good, relatively inexpensive range that would suit me as a starter kit. I was very happy when I received them in the mail. The case itself is wonderful. It's durable (so strong I had to work hard to get the brushes out) with a great design. The case can stand open to serve as a display case and closes with a beautiful leather snap-on tab for hand protection. As I will be painting outdoors it is good to have this tote bag. The brushes themselves are of good quality. I've been using them for a few days now and they hold their shape well. I had a slightly longer hair right down the middle on my #3 round brush which was confusing me a bit so I trimmed it and solved the problem. I committed the mortal sin of leaving one of the brushes bristles down in the water overnight and was relieved to see that the bristles didn't bend and immediately snapped back to their original shape. phew! I would definitely recommend this set of brushes, they are good quality and have a good range of shapes, good for a starter collection.
