I gave up on my 36" floating shelf when it kept falling out of thin old house walls and decided to reinforce it with these brackets. They are made from heavy duty, thick metal and are more than enough to support both a 2 inch thick shelf and 7-8 pounds of decor placed on it. With 4 screws and dowels it holds very well on the wall. Hopefully the weight distribution on the 4 anchor bolts works better than the previous 2 anchor bolts that failed to hold the shelf. I've seen some reviews that said the clamps don't hold more than 30lbs and I think I'm expecting a lot from those. I would limit the weight to 15-20 pounds max. Maybe not enough for your industrial needs, but definitely more than enough for home accents and decoration. I'm happy with that.
