This is not the part that comes with Tacoma which I think is causing some confusion but it will fit Tacoma with no modifications. I bought this for my 2017 V6 Tacoma because the aluminum seems to be much more durable than the plastic body that comes from stock. I plan on driving my truck at least 300,000 miles, which equates to dozens of oil changes, and the thought of the plastic body cracking as I drive down the road, allowing all the oil to drain and fry my engine. .. makes me wince. I'm sure the Toyota engineers know what they're doing and in all likelihood a plastic case will do, but $25 is CHEAP insurance. If you plan on keeping your truck long-term and want to treat yourself, get this. Made in Japan! Oh yes, and there was no need to change the spring/filter like some of the other reviews said. The only thing you need to replace from the old block is the oil filter drain plug and you're done! Be sure to lubricate the new O-rings with some fresh oil before installing.
