I feel like I've spent enough time with this thing

Works - under very specific circumstances. IE - toggles 4k if you have all HDMI inputs and outputs. However, if you have display port adapters or similar, or are transitioning to anything other than 4k, good luck getting it working. Also, it does not transmit keyboard presence over USB. This means that your computer will not boot if you have a BIOS that likes the keyboard present at boot. I threw it in the trash as I eventually got tired of messing around with it.
