This cutting mat can be beautiful, and if that's the most important feature for you, then buy it. But the durability didn't convince me. This is a healing cutting mat that requires some handling, after all you can bring a sharp blade to it and it will heal itself. To be honest I don't know how the scuffs (which won't peel) and the side peeling came about. I must have put something next to it or put something on top of it. But it was on my sewing table, not in the garage. That should not have happened. I have had other less expensive cutting mats with the same treatment for years and they have never been damaged so easily. This is after it had only been on my desk for a week. I suspect it might have been damaged in transit or boxed for shipping and I didn't realize that, but still. Anyway, it's too late.
