Review on 🏢 Miele S8390 Kona Canister Vacuum Cleaner by Dora Luna

We've had the S514 since 2006 and while it still works great we're picky about giving it a little less wear and tear. We also have one of their dishwashers (over 10 years old) as well as a washer and dryer. What we have always liked about their products (besides the quality) is the low noise level, so getting another vacuum from them was an easy matter. As for the canister itself, as expected, we love it. We obviously need to refurbish the S514 as we've forgotten how quiet it used to be. It's nice to talk about the vacuum again. Unfortunately, the Electro Plus head is a different story. It makes a horrible noise that made me run up three flights of stairs thinking my wife or son was screaming. It's much louder than the canister itself and has an annoyingly high-pitched tone. Our 6 year old Electro Plus head is much quieter (thankfully they're still interchangeable). I've tried contacting Miele USA support but uncharacteristically I've had no response from them so I need to find the nearest service center for them to look at. Should it turn out that we received a defective head I will update this review accordingly. In addition, the heads are about twice the size of the S514. While I can see how good it can be for wide open spaces, we have a lot of small spaces and over the years we've adapted them to our existing heads. The Electro head is also 2-3 times heavier than its old version. We haven't used the head without power yet, even though we don't have carpets or rugs (wood) in our house. We have always found that the Electro Plus brush works much better for us. Pros: Everything is interchangeable with our 6 year old S514. The container is remarkably quiet. Aside from the color and controls (the S514 now has a dial like the S6 model) it's pretty much the same as our old one. Cons: Head size. Electro Plus head noise. UPDATE: Turns out the new Electro Plus head really is that loud, which we think is a terrible shame considering how quiet the canister is. Our old head is still sold but renamed the Electro Comfort. The seller is very helpful and offers to exchange this head for one of our choice (and credit accordingly). So in the end everything will be fine.
