Plug and Play in my 2018 Tacoma. Instructions for removing the taillight assembly are easily found online. Note that you don't have to separate the assembly itself; it remains connected via cable. Disconnect the tail lamp connector and then unscrew the lamp assembly from its socket. Only the halogen lamp itself needs to be removed. The mounting assembly remains the same and these lamps connect straight away. As far as I can tell, polarity (which connection method) doesn't matter. I recommend disconnecting the negative battery terminal when doing any electrical work, even something as simple as changing lightbulbs. Follow the steps in reverse order to put everything back together. These lights add some much-needed backlighting and make things even more visible as they emit white light. The day/night difference (pun intended) between these headlights and standard halogens. This is an affordable mod for any vehicle to get a safer picture while reversing. If you have a reversing camera, the benefits are even more evident.
