Review on SiriusXM SXSD2 Portable Speaker System by David Berry

Excellent reception and sound in room

Love this thing. I've had satellite radio in my car for three years and wanted it in my house, but I was afraid of poor reception without an outside antenna. No mistake. I have excellent reception anywhere in my one story home. I've found that if I start the car in the garage with the metal garage door open and on top of the garage I get excellent satellite radio reception even when I'm in the garage. So I assumed (correctly) that indoor reception wouldn't be a problem. If so, no problem, the sound box comes with a very long internal antenna that can be placed on a south facing window. There is even space on the back of the sound box to wind up the cable and antenna and store them directly on top of the sound box when they are not needed. But most importantly, it has great sound. Hard to believe what comes out of this relatively small ghetto blaster. I call it a boom box because it has great bass. FYI, Sirius/XM offers a free radio that comes with this paid subscription sound box. Additionally, if you already have a subscription, you'll get the second subscription to the radio at a discount of about a third.
