There is nothing wrong with this deck in my opinion. The only thing missing is where they recommend putting an anti-skate line on the arm. You need to go to the Pro-Ject webpage and download another installation guide that explains where to place them for different weight cartridges. I did this shortly after ordering so I could check, so it wasn't a big deal. (except for removing all packaging). It's a little odd to think about how to align yourself with only three feet, but after you've played around with the adjustment it's actually a lot easier because you can line up your back and work through the adjustments with two. Front legs that are much easier to manipulate. Make sure you have a good level! I've seen reviews where people commented on the tonearm and the uncomfortable lifting system and blade on the tonearm for lifting. Must have different hands or something, I didn't have any problems from reading other reviews. The noise level is very low, I don't hear a lot of extra noise that could be caused by the table. myself. I've been using it for the second week and the more I use it, the nicer it sounds. I have a combination of old vinyl I bought in the 80's and 90's, 180g records and later reissues. It's a tribute to all my old records as well as new releases. The Sumiko pickup sounds pretty good to my ears, but I'm thinking about switching to Ortofon Blue, I'll have to see if that makes a difference. However, Sumiko seems to "play all types of music well" and is fairly easy to upgrade to a stylus. I know I'll eventually want to change cartridges, but the fragility of the arm leads compared to my thick fat fingers and my lack of practice with tweezers make me nervous. I can handle alignment, that's soldering tiny objects after breaking them, which becomes difficult at times. They added heat shrink tubing around the lead and contact solder joint and this is an improvement over the last Pro-Ject I owned. It's shielded too, unlike the other Pro-Ject which I obviously didn't have. I am very happy with this purchase having used several old Marantz and Pioneer decks with more modern cassettes. I would like to give them a break, they did a great job but now I can go to my parts area.
