I was very disappointed with it at first. He swayed a lot, just trying to sit on a flat slab of granite, plus or minus 1/2 a degree anyway! I measured a deflection of 0.008" on a "flat" base. So I mounted it upside down in my cutter and bored it. Now it sticks securely to any flat surface and keeps showing the perfect 0 degrees after zeroing It wasn't flat at first, but that was an easy fix for most who wanted to use this tool at all.
