Review on ๐Ÿช“ Effortlessly Conquer Wood Chopping with the X27 Super Splitting Axe 36 Inch by Mike Cooper

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A great splitting ax, but a few tweaks make it perfect.

I have this ax and a Fiskars 8lb splitter. To be honest, if you're chopping any significant amount of wood, you'll need both. And if you use both, you'll see what's wrong with this axe. To be honest he's doing a fantastic job. It easily splits oak even with knots. Where it sucks is ergonomics and durability compared to an 8-pound sledgehammer. The hammer has a thick rubber/composite "protective grip" just below the head of the sledgehammer. This device does an excellent job of deflecting the split wood around the handle, preventing damage to the handle if you deviate slightly from the target. (Don't skip too much, so a cheap sledgehammer with a steel/fiberglass handle is better for learning.) Finally scrape the handle off there. How long can he stand it? The time will show. Another feature this cleaver should have is a strong Isocor handle. The ax has a hollow composite handle, and if you hit further than the target your hands will stab more than you expect. 8 pound sledgehammer? With this Isocor handle you can chop wood without gloves and worries. So this ax is absolutely worth the money, but add some of the features this 8 pound splitting ax has and it will be perfect. Fiskars should sell an ax with these qualities, even if it means a premium. I like to pay.
