I usually put 50 foot lights in front of my house. For a couple of years I put on C7 strings and took bulbs with me to all the big holidays. Orange and purple for Halloween, green for St. Patrick's Day, red and white and blue for July, colorful or white for Christmas, etc. I decided on a system with cup hooks screwed into the wood. I moved into a new house with an all-brick facade. It does not fit cup hooks. I've reviewed many different universal gutter clamps but didn't like the design. These clips hang like cup hooks and are quick to attach to gutters, which is important when the weather isn't so great. The clips are very inconspicuous, but hold the light thread quite firmly. I don't master the art of installing them with one hand so it can be annoying when you're on a ladder. The curved end acts like a spring and keeps the clip firmly in the groove and the hooked end hugs the writing and makes a good hook for a string of lights. It's easy enough to hang or remove the lamp by the installed clips. It will be interesting to see how they hold up over time.
