This is one of the best buys I have ever received. To enjoy 4K Blu-ray, you must first set it to 4K UHD, 24p output that plays movies so that you can get 4K cinema experience. This is called 24 ideal movement speeds. The player's menu isn't the easiest to program, but if you want the best picture you should upscale it to 4K and play at 24Hz. By the way, this player plays 2K Blu-ray disc, not 4K Blu-ray disc. But it upscales regular Blu-ray to 4K just fine, I have the best 55 inch Philips 4K TV they made a year ago, it has phenomenal picture, and when I watch high quality Blu-ray movies from a Play Philips 4K Blu-ray player with upscaling You can't even tell it's upscaling, it's hardware upscaling so it really does feel like 4K. Don't expect a DVD to look like 4K.
