I agree with other reviewers who have had issues or concerns about the plastic T-connector they supply for the install. I would never trust this cheap part or even try to use it. I ordered a chrome plated metal T-connector valve which they recommend and sell separately. This is a quality part that basically also solves another problem with the product by allowing you to set the maximum pressure of the water coming out of the spray nozzles. The water lift control lever is actually more like a switch and doesn't allow you to effectively control the amount of water sprayed. Using an optional T-valve is the best way to avoid pain. Because this product doesn't heat water, the water it shoots at you is the same temperature as the cold water line in your home, as other reviewers have pointed out. In winter the water in my toilet can be very cold which makes using this product very frustrating! If they turn on some kind of reservoir, the water would at least have a chance to warm up to room temperature. I also had the same issue that many others have mentioned with how this product fits under the seat. It raises the back of the seat so it doesn't lie flat and the rear seat cushions no longer hit the edge of the toilet. This will cause the seat to bend and break unless you purchase and install taller rear seat cushions. They should be in the product, but they aren't. Because there is no way to adjust the direction of the sprays, the user can change their position to get the water hitting the right spot. Maybe I'm just not sitting properly because this thing hits my right cheek every time and I have to move to the right for the water splashes to hit the target. This product doesn't dry you out either, so you're still using paper to dry off. Because the jets deploy from a fixed position at the back of the toilet, they spray you at a pretty good forward angle, and unless you keep the water pressure very low, the jet of water can actually blow things around and cause a lot of back damage. have to clean up with more paper afterwards. I would not recommend this product or anything like it and I will not buy any other for myself. Next time I'll buy one that heats the water and has a more controllable jet that sends the water up towards your butt rather than forward at that angle. I also want a built in seat that fits properly and a warm air dryer. These features cost hundreds of dollars more, but I understand and believe they are essential to a product like this. Update 6/18/15 I was immediately contacted by email as soon as the manufacturer saw my review above. I am very pleased to report that they have an outstanding customer service department that goes the extra mile to make their customers happy, far beyond most companies I have dealt with. They apologized for any inconvenience with their product and offered to ship me their new improved model and another high quality chrome T-valve free of charge. I gladly accepted their offer and received a new device in a few days. The new model of this bidet is the Neo 185 and it is definitely an improvement over the original Neo 180. The new 185 model uses a rotary knob or dial to turn on the jets and adjust the jet strength. The new dial is still sensitive, but makes it easier to slowly turn on the water with less harshness than the original Neo 180. However, being able to significantly reduce the maximum water flow on this bidet is still imperative using an optional chrome plated T-valve . Installing my new Neo 185 also helped me fix the aiming issues I had with the 180. I found that my toilet seat was pressing against the body of the bidet, causing the jets of water to spray at a more direct angle than it should have been. I installed 1/8" washers between the seat and the new bidet and now my new Neo 185 sprays water at the perfect angle and works much better. They gave me a try, weren't high enough, but that's a minor issue. Also, the water will still be painfully cold on those midwinter mornings, but that won't be a problem for me most of the year. The company has amazing customer service and since the new Neo 185 is slightly better at controlling the cleaning jet power I can now recommend buying the new Neo 185 bidet. You should still get the improved T-valve and taller seat. Bumpers separately if the company doesn't include them in the bidet, but with their excellent customer service you can be assured that they will go the extra mile to please their customers. Given the relatively low price of these products, I think the new Neo 185 is a great product. Now I just have to think about how I can make the water temperature more comfortable in the winter months. I plan on finding a small built-in reservoir or just installing a very long supply hose that I can coil up and hang behind the reservoir to allow the water in the house to warm to room temperature.
