Review on 16-Core, 32-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor - AMD Ryzen 9 5950X by Mateusz Walkowski ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is completely satisfied, performs its functions.

As a result, I tuned the RAM to 3600Mhz with difficulty in 1:1 controller mode! To do this, it was necessary to set all the primary and about 70% of the secondary ones with "handles". The funny thing is that at the end of my torment on setting up the RAM, it turned out that on the "native" timings of the RAM (for the 3800Mhz mode it is 16-19-19-19-39 + "relaxed" secondarys) or "clamped" timings (16- 15-15-15-35 + partially compressed secondary) the same minimum voltage is required for stable operation - in the mother's BIOS it is 1.46V ! At the same time, Ryzen calc helped a lot . As for the stock state of the processor, then: cpu-z 660 and 10900 (for RAM 2133Mhz); 650 and 10800 (for RAM 3600Mhz). CB 20 - 9800pts. After setting PBO (PBO works, only settings differ from stock) + curve opt. - see pictures.

Pros
  • Good boost per core (after tuning). Moderate heat dissipation (in stock). High specific performance per core and there are already 16 of them!
Cons
  • It was very difficult to set up the RAM for stable operation at least in the 3600Mhz mode (I spent more than one day on this .) ! RAM - 64Gb gskill neo 3800CL16 (4x16Gb; 1.40V) in 1:1 controller mode refused to run at 3800Mhz at all! In the 1:2 mode, the memory started up at a frequency of 3800Mhz with the declared main timings without problems (I did not touch the secondary ones), with a voltage of 1.43V in the mother's BIOS . Draw your conclusions .
