Putting this on my receiver after a few quick tests was fine. After staying in place for 8 months without taking it off, I was never able to unlock it. No unusual conditions and the keyhole cover was open all the time. The key was inserted halfway and turned, not far enough to open the lock. It took me about an hour to struggle with him to pick the lock. With a loose pin and lock, I've found that the bolt that slides into the groove to latch on the shank doesn't disengage safely when the key is turned. He gets stuck. I will no longer use it as it could prevent me from using my hitch when I need it.
