Attention, a lot of letters I purchased this ssd for an MSI GS 76 laptop in order to install it in the second slot. The first slot has an ssd micron 3400 1tb (write speed ~ 5500). There is a thermal pad on it, which removes heat to the bottom cover of the laptop (metal cover). After installing the ssd samsung, I did a test and noticed the temperature. During the performance test, the temperature reached 78. And while copying a 30 GB folder to it, it warmed up to 83, after which I canceled the copy. I measured the temperature on my native ssd - the temperature is not higher than 48. I transferred the thermal pad to the Samsung. As a result, the Samsung is 49, but the native micron without cooling began to heat up to 79. IMHO, the conclusion suggests itself that modern high-speed ssds require additional cooling. I don’t have much comparison experience, but both ssds behaved almost the same without cooling. Yes, in the old laptop there was a 500 GB ssd WD, it didn’t get warm, but its write speed was no more than 500 mbs. So radiators to the rescue. I ordered a thermal pad, installed it, the temperature is not higher than 55
