Initially the air pump worked fine. It's nice that it was quieter than I expected and had strong and adjustable airflow. It did a good job for the small 10 gallon tank I use to quarantine new fish before adding them to the larger main tank - I just used the pump (no rock) to pump the small sponge filter to feed. It was good. The powerful airflow provided a constant flow of oxygenated bubbles through the sponge filter to the surface, even on the lowest settings. But by the 57th day of operation, the constant airflow sharply decreased, and the flow of bubbles to the surface slowed to a trickle. This happened once, leading me to believe the engine had lost significant power. However, I checked for clogs, kinks in the air hose, and other possible causes. I haven't found any. It seems that he suddenly began to fail significantly. He's still only releasing a trickle of air. I need to look for a reliable, durable brand.
