Review on πŸ–‹οΈ Manuscript Sketching and Cartography Nibs by Kristen Reid

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Inexpensive, durable and easy to use

First let me start with a word of warning: I'm not a calligrapher. I am an avid fountain pen user and bought this set mainly to experiment with several different nibs and to be able to compare different inks without having to paint over the pen. My secondary goal was to experiment with a flexible pen and some calligraphy. I use the EF flexible tip primarily for writing thin, thin lines of notes and notation. For the money you're paying, this is a great set for experimenting, comparing different inks, or for pencil sketching, diagrams, cartoons, etc. In reviews of other Leonardt pen sets, some reviewers noted that the nibs don't securely hold the pen. I have found that this is not the case at all. In fact, the springs are very tight. Perhaps those reviewers misplaced the springs. If you don't put the feathers in the metal tabs, they dangle very freely. Goodbye. However, you must remember that you are not buying a "high class" with this set. Therefore, judge its performance accordingly.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure
