Review on Mellif USB Battery Adapter DM18RL: Convert Dewalt 20V & Milwaukee 18V to Ryobi 18V Lithium-ion Battery by Jason Chaplain

Use DeWalt batteries for Ryobi tools

I wanted a battery powered (not for weeding) line trimmer but didn't want one of the cheaper ones with less powerful non-replaceable batteries. Ryobi makes one, but DeWalt doesn't. Ryobi's Naked Tool is inexpensive, but not if I have to buy a battery and charger with it. The cost of the tool has doubled. This adapter allows me to use my DeWalt batteries in a Ryobi tool. That works great. Some comments say the adapter is difficult to remove from the tool, but I haven't had such a problem. I am aware of the warning from a low rated review to be careful not to drain the battery as it may not charge. Since this is a low power tool that I will only use occasionally and not for hours, I don't mind. After 20-30 minutes of using an uncharged 1.3A battery, it still reads 19.3V and 52mA charge. I think that the risk of battery discharge comes from long periods of drilling or screwing, both of which are used with high power consumption. The search for this adapter was a great success. I can put away my pruning shears and will probably keep my beds clean now without spending too much on another set of batteries and a charger. I haven't tried this, but only the battery and AC adapter can be used to charge or run. Electronic USB device with built-in USB power connector. (It is NOT designed to charge your tool battery.) Good for emergencies as tool batteries need to be much more powerful than phone or tablet batteries.
