Review on 116L DLC Bike Chain - KMC 🚴 X11SL 11 Speed: Enhance Cycling Performance with Top-Quality Chain by Lance Story

[Upgrade after 500 miles of use] Downgraded from 5 stars to 2 stars. The DLC coating (black) on the side of the chain came off very quickly. It's friction on an 11-speed cassette. My other x10sl Gold Ti Nitride 10 speed bike never came across it, I've ridden over 500 million. Is it because the DHL coating isn't actually stronger than Ti-Nitride? Another hypothesis is a broken gear. 11th gear has narrower spacing than 10th, so maybe a greater chance of rubbing on the gears? I will now try to replace the 11 speed gold ti nitride chain from this DLC for testing purposes. To be honest I don't think it's worth spending that much money to buy this DLC when the cover comes off so easily. I will update Ti-Nitride chain result as soon as I get it. Replaced by SRAM PC-X1 which wore out after a year of use. This is my first time for the DLC type but I have used the titanium coated (gold colored) type on another bike for 2 years and it still works with no problems. So I think this chain will do the job well. So far it's very smooth and very light. You may experience pedaling differently.
